Sand Casting
Reliable Sand Casting Solutions for Diverse Industrial Needs
At Invent Cast, sand casting combines tradition with technology to deliver large, complex, and durable castings. With our expertise, we produce cost-effective solutions suitable for a wide range of industries and applications.
Our Step-by-Step Sand Casting Process
The sand casting method is one of the most versatile and widely used manufacturing techniques. Here’s how our process ensures accuracy and dependability:
Step 1
Pattern Making
Patterns are created in wood, metal, or resin, designed to match exact product dimensions.
Step 2
Mold Preparation
Sand mixed with binding agents is packed around the pattern to form the mold cavity.
Step 3
Core Placement
Cores are added to create internal cavities or complex part geometries as required.
Step 4
Mold Assembly
Molds are closed and secured to maintain accuracy during molten metal pouring.
Step 5
Metal Pouring
Molten metal is carefully poured into the mold cavity to fill the design.
Step 6
Cooling
Castings are left to solidify under controlled conditions, ensuring strength and grain consistency.
Step 7
Mold Breakout
Sand mold is broken, and the solidified casting is removed for finishing.
Step 8
Fettling & Cleaning
Excess material, runners, and risers are removed; surface is cleaned for inspection.
Step 9
Machining & Finishing
Secondary machining ensures dimensional accuracy and functional performance before delivery.
